Stuart Wilson Trophy

Results:

Brian Willcock 1 Peter Hiller 0 (from Round 5)

Andrew Robinson ½ Tony Howes ½ (from Round 9)

With the final two games played, the tournament is now concluded.

Tony Howes played Andrew knowing he had to win to force a play-off with Tony Morris.

The game ended an agreed draw, but was not without its moments of near breakthrough for both players.

In the end, it would have conceded defeat for either player if playing too aggressively for victory when queens were on the board and when these were exchanges the game stalemated.

This is the first major tournament victory at the club for Tony Morris and is due reward for steadily improving play over recent years.

Brian won the final game of the night to finish (around 9:45pm) to move up to seventh place finish for the tournament.
