Gary Sands pulled off an unexpected win to power to the top of the table. This also was a chance missed for Tony Morris who could have moved a point clear of the pack with a win tonight.
Tony Howes and Andrew Robinson both had a chance to catch Gary but played out a drawn game that Tony was happy to see the end of, because it was ‘too boring’. An analysis program later judged Tony to be up 0.01 pawns when the draw was agreed.
Joshua Morris joined the players on four points with an expected win against Peter Hiller.
Peter Black followed up a good win two weeks ago on his debut at the club with an impressive draw tonight in a game that was one of the last to finish.
Brian also had an impressive win against the 2010 Flood Cup champion Cameron De Vere, to give himself a shot at winning the Handicap Trophy.
Likewise, Daniel Sheldon also kept himself in contention to win the Handicap trophy with victory over James Hiller on the bottom board.
