Outcome: Title shared
The first play-off for five years in a classical rated tournament at The Gap CC saw a repeat of the previous result with a draw and a shared title, as occurred in 2010.
The unusualness of the five year break is shown in this list of play-offs in classically rated tournaments at The Gap Chess Club.
Cameron and Andrew played an even game which meant the Stuart Wilson Trophy title for 2015 is shared by these two players.
If Joshua Morris had lost his game, there would have been an unprecedented five-way play-off (between Joshua, Joe, Tony M, Nathan and Metin).
Fortunately for the sake of scheduling, Joshua won in a close game where he was the exchange down (R+R vs R+B) but made the most of his compensatory pawns.
Metin, Nathan and Brian all won their final round games, while Martin was the beneficiary of a free point which elevated him to fourth position in the final standings.
