Tony Morris 0 Martin Laizans 1

Two games finished before 9am, and the other three were closer and went to a 10pm finish, or close to it.

James played well and was a temporary pawn up by move 10. With the pawn given back, he could have reach an equal position, but blundered (after returning to the board from 5 minutes away) and lost a piece, and the game was simplified after that to a quick win for white.

Tony had the longest game of the night and seemed to be in a winning position, but lost his momentum during time trouble and allowed the more experienced Martin to retrieve a win.

Peter and Joshua both played slowly, and the game was even until Peter conceded a piece. An oversight when in a totally won position gave Peter the piece back, and with accurate play Peter might have forced a draw being a pawn down. However Joshua played the final moves out well to claim his first win of the tournament.

George Valenci also put in an appearance and played a few games with Ray Adams.
