Flood Cup

Round 3 results:

Tony Howes 0 Andrew Mather 1

Sanat Kunwar 1 Kieran Lyons 0

Warren Mayocchi vs Andrew Robinson – postponed

Brian Willcock vs Marcus Porter – postponed

Russell Lyons 1 Ray Adams 0

Martin Laizans 1 John Ryland 0

Andrew Mather won in a marathon encounter against Tony that lasted until 11:45pm.

George Flitcroft-Smith withdrew from the tournament and has been replaced by Sanat Kunwar, who got off to a good start registering a win against Kieran Lyons.

Ray had an interesting game with Russell, but again came up winless. Ray went into an endgame with a 'good bishop' against a knight. However the position of Russell’s pawns and knight limited the mobility of Ray’s bishop, so that Ray was not able to take advantage of his bishop, and even failed to get a draw in a positional endgame.
