Almost 12 months after commencing, this tournament was finally brought to a close with the play-off for first place.

 

Marcus played well early and obtained an endgame advantage of rook versus bishop (with five pawns each).

The endgame was played accurately, and Marcus became only the second player to win consecutive titles in this tournament.
