Brian lost to George but post-analysis revealed he had winning chances that were missed.
Tony had the ascendancy for much of his game against Andrew thanks to strong positioning. He won Andrew’s queen for a rook and bishop, but eventually hung on for a draw after his king was left alone in the corner trapped by a rook and knight, with a bishop ready to join in to provide mate. The game finished just before midnight.
