Martin was slightly in front for most of a very even game which ended in a stalemate of pawns with kings that could not break through.
Ray offered George a draw at 10:30pm which was rejected with George a pawn up. By 11pm it was even with Ray having a slight advantage. At this point George offered a draw which was rejected and the alarms were extended. Ray went on to push through for a hard fought victory that now makes him one of the favourites to win this year’s Flood Cup.
