The main result to come out of tonight saw Tony beat Andrew in an attacking game from both players.

Tony gained the crucial advantage with a clever move at move 14, one overlooked by his opponent.

At this time, both players had used up a lot of time in a complicated games and were down to just over 30 minutes on the clock.

The result evens up the leaders, with four players dropping one point, and Greg with only a half point conceded.

 

In other games, Andrew, Greg and Jim won to stay in contention for both the main tournament, and position themselves well for a chance to win the Maiden Trophy
