Brian provides this week’s report:
I lost an interesting game to Tony. I was attacking and set up a position where Tony could not play a pawn fork that might appear on the cards. When Tony took a piece (recoverable). the pawn fork seemed achievable and my position ruined. After tearing out my remaining hair I finally resigned - an act that Tony and Greg demonstrated was premature, even if Tony gained the edge.
Russell beat Jack to consolidate his position in third place.
Greg and Martin played out a draw which improves their mid-table positions, and continues an interesting battle for the Maiden Trophy.
