Lots of shared points added to the congestion at the top of the table.

Jim appeared to miss a winning pawn push against Nathan in the first game, but made up for it with a surprise crushing queen and bishop attack in game two.

Brian welcomed Rob to the club with a traditional queen offering in the first game. The effect rubbed off, as Rob followed with a similar error (a minor piece this time, but still fatal) in game two.

Tony managed to lose the first game on time as the little hand of the clock moved towards ten. He recovered his composure to win easily after Nathan gifted a bishop in the endgame. Nathan played on only hoping to repeat last year’s fraudulent victory, but Tony held his nerve and his back row to force a win.
