Round 6 result:

Cameron was winning this game from about move 16 onwards but tripped up in time trouble at the end to deliver Andrew an unexpected win. Andrew started with c4, but Cameron transposed to a queen pawn game so Andrew exchanged the c pawns heading towards a drawish variation. Cameron spent almost 20 minutes on his twelfth move, but soon after won the exchange plus a pawn at move 16 to 18. Cameron returned the exchange for another pawn and a very active rook at moves 22 to 24. At move 34 he forced the exchange of the remaining minor pieces to enter a rook endgame with a seemingly impregnable two pawn advantage. However by this time Cameron had entered the last five minutes of his time, while Andrew never fell below 20 minutes. The final exchanges fell in such a way that Andrew ended up with the pawn that became a queen.
None of the players in the top three will play each other in Round 7, so five players are still in with a mathematical chance of winning the Flood Cup going into the last round. If two or more players are tied for first place a play-off will occur.
Three players are still in the running to win the Handicap Trophy, which Gary Sands can win if he beats Kieran Lyons in his last game.
