Report – 5 February 2010

Lightning Tournament

The first night of the tournament saw two players break free of the pack, with the winner almost certain to be either Tony or Nathan. Tony’s only loss was a slightly controversial upset against Gary when there was a question over the position of a piece – Tony preferred to resign rather than bicker. Nathan lost to Tony but won the rest of his games. Andrew’s chances of retaining the lightning crown were virtually lost after his first two games when he lost to Gary and then Nathan. Tony’s win over Andrew ensured that it will be a two horse contest next week.
