Greg Colwell provides the report on tonight’s action…

Nathan and Mark's game by far the longest battle and appeared even with Q and 2 R each, but Nathan with double rooks and a mate threat left little Mark could do other than drop big material and instead "fell on his sword". Ray's precise play against Gary's opening gave a mid game positional advantage while James did exceptional well in a tight game against Greg only losing a R for B exchange late in the mid-game which left him N for R down and limited options on an open board.

Quote of the night

“So do you write with your left hand and play with your right?” – Nathan querying Ray’s ambidextrous tendencies (Ray always moves with his right hand and places the clock there when playing with black pieces).
