Seven sets of games were played tonight, and every player managed to score at least half a point on the night.

Josh made that little bit of extra experience at tournament chess count when he swindled a draw in the first game against Joseph. Joseph was a queen up with both players having two rooks; however Josh managed to force a repetition on with his rook on the seventh rank.

With the markets falling around the world, Mark managed two solid wins against Russell to lift himself into the mid-table. Why doesn’t Mark play like this every night? Russell recovered to win three games from four against the Fords.

Tony and Kieran both improved their own chances with two-nil victories over their opponents.

With all players now completing half of their games, all games played thus far will count towards the final table.
