Josh continued his good form in the first game, picking up a draw in a game Nathan thought Josh should have won. Peter’s poor form continued when he lost twice to Andrew after blunders. Tony pressed forward his chances of claiming his first Allegro title with a clean sweep of his games with Mark and Greg. Andrew somehow managed to swindle a win from a dead drawn opposite bishops endgame against Nathan, but then lost the second when he could easily have settled for a draw – Nathan seeing an opportunity that Andrew had overlooked.
