Report – 7 March 2008

Flood Cup

Results:

Brian Willcock 1 James Hiller 0

Mr Willcock kindly provided the following report on the evening’s action:

Shock result - BW 1 JH 0.

The titanic struggle between Brian and James to win bragging rights for the rustiness of their chess was won by James. The Barwick of Gatton made an execrable positional mistake in his first few moves and was unable to recover. Brian somehow guessed how Knights moved and was able to exploit James’s troubles and win the game. He explained away the result by claiming James had been stressed by the 200 kph dash from the West to get to The Gap only half an hour late and indeed that once James had been able to recover he had trounced him in their final skittles game.
