The biggest surprise of the night came when Brian Thomas drew with Ellis. Ellis looked a little bit disappointed at the end, as if he could have pushed on for more in a bishop and pawns endgame. Brian remains the favourite to win his group however.
Group B saw Mark win twice to maintain his chances. Andrew beat Cameron to go top of the group and leave Gordon Powell and Mark as his serious challengers to win the group.
Gordon Berg joined the tournament tonight and replaces Cecil Staples in Group B.
