Flood Cup
One postponed game was played on Easter Monday (25 March).
Round 2 result:
Phillip Kirkman 1 Ray Adams 0
Ray’s account:
Phillip and I played round 2 last night. I lost, but it was an interesting game of tactics. Despite missing the best line in the opening and blundering a pawn, due to inaccurate play on Phillip's part, I managed to enter the middle game with many tactical threats bestowed by a pair of advanced knights that were radiating power and pressure into his postion. I was given chances to gain a piece up, but failed to see these winning lines. Consequently Phillip finally came through with a won rook and pawn endgame. This probably shows that I should concentrate my training on raw middle game analysis and correct execution of the combinations.
