The two players who finished first and second in this tournament last year played off early in the night. Last year Andrew pulled the second game out of the fire from a lost position to draw one all. This year Tony played strongly and consistently to win both games by a considerable margin, putting himself in a strong position to win the tournament.
George continues to put pressure on Andrew for second place in a contest that will decide the BAR Trophy winner.
James had winning positions in both games against Stuart but lost the plot in the endgame each time.

Quote of the night
Several quotes tonight…
“Your fly is done up today” – Phil Kirkman’s first comment to Brian as he walked in the door.
“I’m sure the government will use its power responsibly in the Senate” – James with his eye still firmly on the third spot on the Lib’s next Senate ticket.
