One Hour tournament

Round 10 results:

Tony Howes 1 Stuart Wilson 0

Peter Hiller 1 Luthien Russell 0

Debbie Jenkins 1 Marty Chadwick 0

The big local derby saw Marty hastily sending off emails that he may later regret:

oooOOO BEHIND CLOSED DOORS OOOooo...

 she has the greater experience...

 she has the superior skills...

So why has he been banished... to the loungeroom...

...while she studies... and prepares... alone in her room...

 ……………!!!! BEHIND CLOSED DOORS !!!!

On Friday night, we will find out if his carefree ways will put a spanner in her well-laid plans.

On Saturday night, he will find out if his next meal... will be his last.

Then later…..

The psychological warfare has started well before kickoff. I think I'm winning. She's much more concerned with the result than I am. I won't be in trouble if I win. She's not in the running for anything this year, so she won't be too upset if she loses.

The game itself was a close affair with Debbie commenting afterwards that Marty had given her the most difficult game in their competitive encounters to date.

Tony said (with astonishment) that he had never been up three minor pieces. Not until his game tonight with Stuart!

The other game resulted in one of Peter’s best wins.
