Report – 5 September 2003

One Hour tournament

Round 3 game:

Andrew Robinson ½ Debbie Jenkins ½

Round 11 games:

Gabriel Boross 1 James Hiller 0

Marty Chadwick 1 Mike Talbot 0

Brian Willcock 1 Stuart Wilson 0

Debbie further cemented her place as favourite for the Maiden Trophy with a draw against Andrew, in a game that she might have even won with a little more enterprise in the endgame. Debbie needs a further 1½ points from her remaining three games to be out of reach of John Curran. For the trivia buffs, Debbie has now achieved five draws in the tournament, one short of the record (Andrew Robinson 6 draws from 13 games – 1996 Flood Cup).

Gabriel and Brian had wins as expected while Marty jumped above Peter in the standings after his third win of the tournament.
