Three games were played over the board tonight and the other was decided on forfeit following the mysterious non-appearance of Aaron (SARS-related?).
Andrew added to his jetlag (in from Japan this morning) by winning a long drawn out game with Peter that finished around midnight. Tony quickly accounted for Gabby while Mike and Debbie exchanged pieces helter skelter until Debbie had only a rook left. Mike being unfamiliar with the K+RvK ending fought it out to the bitter end and received mate over the board.
Play on the night was continued by a few hardened fanatics until 1.20am.
