Tony Howes 1 John Curran 0
Two games were played tonight with Tony and Ray both recording wins.
Aaron Michaux and Eric Faccer showed up tonight up a long absence from the club and indicated that they will likely be late entries to the Flood Cup. This will make the tournament a 16 player 7 round swiss. Aaron and Eric will play each other in Round 1 so as not to disrupt the draw which has already taken place.
Selected games from the One Hour tournament will be published each week.

Lightning Tournament
The final set of lightning games saw 4 mistake riddled games by 2 players having an off night. Paul won the first game when Andrew gave away a free rook in a vastly superior endgame. Andrew won the second and third games to cross the line and win the tournament. Game 4 was won by Paul who claimed fourth position in the tournament after Andrew let his opponent become overwhelmingly strong with white down the h-file.

Transfer
No transfer. But the late games continued until 12.30am with Aaron and Eric both playing well and showing that their years away from the club have been put to good use. Andrew was unable to take a game off either, and it was not just the unusual time control (for our club) of 2min+12sec. Andrew settled for a few games with Ray Adams, while Brian took on Eric and George took on Aaron.
