The scoresheets from The Gap v Rochedale home and away show that Ken Barker played board one and beat F Probets on both occasions. John Granger also won both times against Rochedale while Doug Foster lost twice. Harvey Quaresmini lost in the away leg – the player’s name on the home leg lost and this is no doubt why their name is illegible on the results card!

From Doug Foster’s “President’s Report 1984”:
“The past year has to be one
of the best on record; our membership reached 32 making us the 4th
largest club in Queensland.
In competition for the first time, we fielded four teams in the Singer Cup. One
”A”, and One “B”, and two “C” grade. John Granger picked up the award for best
individual in “B” grade while David Mills and Brian Willcock tied for the same
in “C” grade. All teams performed with credit.”
