Interclub Match vs. Bullwinkle Chess Club

Bullwinkle Chess Club visited The Gap tonight to play a friendly match.

With seven players representing each club, it was decided to form pairs who would play two games against their opponent.

The Gap had white on Board One, black on Board Two etc for the first round, then alternate for the second round.

Time controls were decided on the night at 30 minutes plus 10 seconds a move, to allow some social time before, between and after the games.

Mark took quite some time to finish off his opponent in Game One, so the second game had a shortened time control of 20 minutes plus 10 and was won by Jasper.

Overall, Bullwinkle outplayed The Gap tonight, particularly on the top three boards, to maintain their unbeaten record over us.

We look forward to hosting the Bullwinkle players again in 2018.
