Stuart Wilson Trophy

Round 6 results:

Martin Laizans 0 Rex Scarf 1

Mark Pendrith v Tony Morris – postponed

Tony Howes v Joshua Morris – postponed

Brian Willcock 0 Cameron De Vere 1

Peter Hiller 0 Andrew Robinson 1

Round 6 was brought forward a week, because with four players giving early advice of their absence it was possible to determine Round 6 would be a better fit for the other six players.

All games were over between 9:30 and 10:00pm. The last to finish was decided after a blunder by Martin led to resignation.

Brian had the better of the early stages of his game with Cameron who came back to win with the odd pawn advantage in a rook endgame.

Peter played solidly if unadventurously to remain even until a mistake at Move 27 allowed a knight fork on rook and queen which Peter inexplicably responded to by gifting his queen.

The game is can be viewed here.
