Stuart Wilson Trophy

Round 4 results:

Peter Hiller 0 Rex Scarf 1

Andrew Robinson 0 Tony Morris 1

Martin Laizans 0 Joshua Morris 1

Mark Pendrith 0 Cameron De Vere 1

Tony Howes v Brian Willcock – postponed

Four game were played tonight. By far the quickest was Joshua’s win over Martin, who resigned a pawn down within 15 minutes of the start of the game.

Cameron was a piece up when Mark resigned, and Peter likewise blundered material against Rex, but only towards the end of his game.

Andrew had an overwhelming attack after 20 moves, and after the game Tony said he felt he was 3 or 4 moves away from resigning at that point.

However a few inaccuracies, followed by strategic blunders allowed Tony to win with a four pawn to one rook advantage at the end.
