Tonight’s play

Peter Hiller joined the tournament tonight to compose it of an even ten players.

All of tonight’s games were keenly contested.

Peter struggled a bit against Martin, and was far behind in material when he conceded to the inevitable and resigned.

Rex and Joshua played a close game which remained even into the endgame and was decided when Rex blundered at the end.

The game between Tony Morris and Tony Howes can be viewed here: https://lichess.org/tdorHuoZ

Cameron played a Semi-Slav Opening and dominated the game, and his opponent was fortunate a desperate attempt at counter-play retrieved the situation enough to allow a draw to be agreed in acute time trouble.

Maiden Trophy

Three players competing are eligible to win the Maiden Trophy: Peter Hiller, Rex Scarf and Mark Pendrith

The winner will be the player accumulating the most points in the tournament.

If there is a tie for first place, a play-off will be required.
