Flood Cup

Round 3 results:

Tony Morris ½ Andrew Robinson ½

Cameron De Vere 1 Evgeny Voloshko 0

Joshua Morris ½ Joseph Curtain ½

Martin Laizans 1 Brian Willcock 0

Daniel Sheldon 0 Mark Pendrith 1

Five games were played tonight, with only the game between Tony Howes and Rex Scarf deferred.

On the top board, Tony and Andrew played out a draw. Later analysis done on the night by Tony showed Andrew missed a key move (which looked more risky than it was) just before the draw was agreed.

Cameron won against Evgeny who is proving to be a tough opponent for whoever he faces.

Joseph Curtain continued a stellar start to the tournament by holding last year’s club Allegro Champion Joshua Morris to a draw.

Mark Pendrith debuted at the club with a win in his first game against Daniel Sheldon.

Martin Laizans won against Brian Willcock in a game that was relatively more conservative than some of the more innovative play witnessed in previous editions of this clash.
