Report – 12 December 2014

Tonight saw the return of Joe Tarnawski, our club’s top player in the 1990s (plus an illustrious chess career at the Qld state level before this)

Joe played Blitz Games with several players from our club, and we look forward to seeing more of Joe in the future.

45 Minute Tournament

With three players from Group A not commencing to play their games, this group has now been reduced to five players.

Consequently, the tournament has taken on a lopsided appearance, with Group A virtually completed, while Group B remains wide open.

Group B has been full of surprises so far, and if Marcus falters (as he almost did against Brian who scuppered a winning position), then any outcome is possible.

Congratulation to Stefan Flanigan who managed a win against a tough opponent in Ray in his very first tournament game at our club.
