Two final Flood Cup games were played tonight. Tony’s victory over John saw him lift the Flood Cup for a second time.
Ray Adams won the Handicap Trophy component of this tournament, and had been far ahead of the field in this event for many weeks.
Gary Sands and Dianne Harrower came back to the club tonight, with Gary staying to play a few games. Dianne recalled being club treasurer in the 1970s. She was also part of The Gap’s Singer Cup squad of that time, but was not allowed to play the Brisbane Prison chess team, as men only were allowed into their venue (for obvious reasons they did not play away games!).
