Three games were played tonight, with two finishing after 11:00pm.

Tony was upset again, with Martin putting in a strong performance to achieve his fourth win of the tournament. This game finished at 9:30pm.

Andrew had a material advantage from midway in his game with John, but John creatively came up with a series of threats that forced Andrew to dwell long of certain critical moves. In the end the game could almost have been a draw until Andrew snatched a critical pawn at move 52. John hung on for a further 11 moves until resignation.

Ray had a material advantage against Greg, a whole knight up with Greg however having an extra pawn. Ray had to come up with several plans to break Greg’s defence and finally the game was over at 11:50pm, easily the latest finish of a Flood Cup game this year.
