Due to Andrew’s quick win against James (mate in 13 moves, game over by 8:45pm) two Round 9 games were able to be played.
John Ryland played very well and exploited brilliantly an opportunity to capture James’ queen.
Once this occurred the game fell apart quickly for James.
Despite missing a mate on one at Move 19, John maintained the pressure to force a resignation from his opponent eight moves later.
