Flood Cup

Round 3 results:

James Hiller 0 Gary Sands 1 (on forfeit)

Tony Howes ½ Ray Adams ½

Russell Lyons 0 Brian Willcock 1

Jim Petrie 1 John Ryland 0

Andrew Robinson ½ John Roper ½

Four games were played over the board tonight. The clash of the club’s two most unorthodox players saw a win to Brian.

Tony arrived late for his game but still managed to salvage a draw despite his loss of time at the start.

John Ryland made a few early strategic miscalculations that handed the advantage to Jim who took full advantage.

John Roper played an excellent solid game to thwart every possible advantage that Andrew tried to extract from each position that presented itself through the game. This game was the last to finish on the night.

The club also welcomed Martin Laizans who played a few games, and we hope he can become a future member of the club. He played a few games with Phillip, while Miriam played Gary Sands who was free due to James failing to appear for his game.
