Allegro tournament

Results:

Andrew Robinson 2 James Hiller 0

Just two games played tonight. James fought his was into the endgame on level terms, but then conceded a piece to a pin. In the second game James castled queenside against the queen’s gambit and again made his was to the endgame, but missed a few opportunities and was a few decisive pawns down at the end.

Greg put in a brave appearance but was deemed unfit to play. Remaining games will be played next Friday Dec 4, and Dec 18 if necessary.

Quote of the night

[Tonight supplied by Nathan Shaw]

“Don’t ask me what’s happening in the Liberal Party.” – James

“No one’s asking you.” – Nathan

“Have you got a social engagement?” – Andrew

“I won’t say” – James

“Indeedely doodely” – Nathan

“Who’s the lucky fella.” – Andrew

“I don’t play for the other team.” – James

“The West Indies?” – Andrew

And on and on it went all night….
