Five games were played tonight and one was played on following Saturday.

Tony moved to tournament favourite with his win over Brian who seems to have lost all form. Early into the game he tried a very speculative and overly ambitious attack which resulted in the net loss of a knight and an easy victory for Tony.

Andrew had the worst of another draw, this time with Nathan and is on target to beat the draw record in a 7 Round Swiss Flood Cup (presently held by Brian Willcock: 1 win, 4 draws, 2 losses in the 1985 Flood Cup).

Nick had an overwhelming positional advantage against Greg but was a piece down. In the end, Greg was just able to hold on and forestall an early checkmate to win by attrition.

Mark played another very entertaining game, but again came out on the wrong side in a game that both players had many chances to obtain a decisive advantage.
