Minutes of the 2006 Annual General Meeting
The attendance at this year’s AGM of 17 equalled the previous high set at the 1996 meeting. The meeting was also the longest since the 1996 meeting, however far short of the marathons that occurred during the 1980s. The club’s archive has a complete set of AGM minutes dating back to 1982. It includes the famous and controversial Special General Meeting of 1987 (the club’s only SGM to date) which discussed the proposal to move The Gap Chess Club out of The Gap. The Gap SHS received 13 votes out of 23 and this venue was maintained.
The table below lists general meetings that have occurred at The Gap CC since 1982, and provides a reflection of membership levels, and the levels of interest that these meetings have generated.
