Report – 30 June 2006

One Hour/Maiden Tournament

Round 2 results:

Andrew Robinson 1 Ellis Markson 0

Mark Taylor 0 Peter Hiller 1

Greg Colwell 1 John Curran 0

Three games were played tonight to complete Round 2. The results leave four players each on two and zero points, with the bulk of ten players in the middle with a 50% record.

Peter arrived twenty minutes late for his game but didn’t let this unduly unsettle him. Perhaps it was like Mark having eleven men against ten but not being able to put away his chances.

Greg achieved his first victory in tournament play to round off a night of even matches.

A new player to the club, Gary Diggles played several opponents – Ray, Cameron and Tim were also present – and was introduced to many new Indians – such as Queen’s Indian, Nimzo-Indian etc – by Ray.
