Eight sets of games were played tonight. Several key games were decided by gross blunders. Tony and Phil both lost the game in which they blundered a queen. Andrew and Tony a game each but won the game they should have lost. Debbie had just cleaned up Joe Tarnawski in a social game and then provided the upset of the night by downing Phil Kirkman in both games.

There is a very tight bunch of players from third to eighth in the table, so everyone has a lot to play for with BAR Trophy points awarded on final finishing position.

45 Minute Tournament

Result of Final:

Andrew Robinson 0 Phillip Kirkman 1

Phil Kirkman won this game easily after Andrew made a huge position error by allowing Phil to capture his black square bishop with a knight against the King’s Indian. After a ‘blunderous’ miscalculation Andrew was a piece down and Phil romped home.
