One Hour tournament

Round 10 result:
James Hiller 0 Stuart Holt 1

Stuart won his this game as the form would have suggested, despite James’ use of the rarely seen Oxford Street Gambit. During the game James exposed the last tool in his armoury but it wasn’t enough on this occasion. He’s promised to go all out in the Allegro so watch out!

Stuart Holt will now face Luthien Russell in a single play-off game to decide the Maiden Trophy. Should this game be a draw then the title will be shared.

Quote of the night

James hogs the limelight as usual…

“Don’t mention the cricket” – James, it transpired that he was referring to Australia’s loss to England in the Champion’s Trophy semi-final --- “… but we’ll still win the Ashes next year!” (the royal ‘we’)

“All my games with Stuart (Holt) were close run affairs” - James

“How are the gee-gees going?” – J Hiller trying to impress George with his racing know-how (despite pronouncing the ‘g’ in gee as in ‘geese’)
