Interclub v Samford Valley Chess Club

A disappointing turn up from The Gap with just three players making it out to Samford tonight. For the main round of 60 minute games we had to borrow former Gap regular Gabby Boross, and pinch Neil Lossberg to make it a five board competition. The three Gap players won their games while the two ring-ins from Samford lost theirs to give The Gap a 3-2 win. A further series of 30 minute games was played with The Gap winning these 2-1 with the final game won by Andrew against Gabby in a drawish looking ending with opposite coloured bishops.
