Six games were played tonight to complete the penultimate round of the Flood Cup. In the crucial game reigning Flood Cup champion Andrew handed over his crown in an interesting game that looked headed for a draw until a blunder at move 33 led to the dropping of a crucial pawn for white. Eric asked after the game if he could have a half point bye in round 7 as Friday night chess was affecting his social life. In view of the fact that George beat Brian to stay one point adrift the request was swiftly refused!
Other games went to form except for the Curran-Adams clash in which John once again achieved an outstanding result holding Ray to a draw.
