Interclub v Samford Valley Chess Club

Five games played tonight, including the resumption of the adjourned game that Tony resigned after a couple of moves following a blunder. White’s 25th move was the sealed move at the adjournment one week before.

Harvey generously agreed to play Eric in a game that he had already technically won by a forfeit. Over the board it was a different story and Eric quickly obtained the advantage and won.

With two early finishes players agreed to play another set of Flood Cup games in the same night. The masochistic tendencies of this action were borne out with two late finishes. The Eric v George game was finally resigned by George at 1.20am after a delayed 9.30pm start. After the premature finish to his previous game Tony faced up to Ray Adams in a match-up that also finished after midnight.
