On the night that saw the return of 1980s club stalwart Ray Adams, Paul Evans’ perfect run continued, and Doug pulled off a brilliant victory. Brian with his Sammy-look-alike beard, James (cricket tragic extraordinaire) and Stuart also maintained their perfect records (alas!).

Defending champion Harvey Quaresmini played his first game of this tournament and got off to a losing start against junior Nathaneal Lim. In the other game George eventually triumphed against Ben with K+RvK at the end. Ben had exhibited a "Yu-ism" during the game, in that he had asked George if he wanted to resign as his Flood Cup opponent had just shown up!
