To-night the Ipswich Club will play Gambit Club. It will not only be a competition match, but also an interclub match. The games are to be plated in the C.W.A. Supper is being provided by the ladies.

The attendance at the club room, over the past few weeks has not been as good as formerly. This is regrettable, for the weekly club night affords an opportunity not only for enjoyable friendly games, but also for the founding of new friendships. We are happy to see a few new members coming along, and trust that all members endeavouring to expand the club by the inclusion of new blood.

The Singer Cup competition has been completed. The Taxation team did not arrive for its last game ad offered to forfeit. It appears likely that the forfeiture will be accepted by the competition management. While the results; of the competition will not be known in detail until newt week, it is known that our club performed very creditably, and it is considered that we have gained second place.

All members are advised that club meetings in future will be held at the C.W.A. Room in Nicholas Street. Two members deserve special mention for their efforts during the competition. C. Harris did not lose a game, and V. Blagonravoff lost only one game. We have received word that a visit will be made to Ipswich by Koshnitsky. We hope to have more information next week. It is the intention of the committee to conduct classes for beginners, and members are requested to endeavour to obtain new members.
